GCGS Greater Cincinnati Guitar Society
About

Welcome to the official site of the GCGS!

We are a non-profit organization formed by guitarists, for guitarists. Our membership consists of classical and steel-string acoustic players and aficionados. We aim not only to maintain the love of the guitar for its current members and able enthusiasts, but also perpetuate an interest in the music and performance of guitar. We also want to stress that we are an open society to all aspects of the instrument and the many different genres this versatile instrument has fostered. Though the foundation of this society is based on the traditions and techniques of western classical guitar, this society does not close its eyes and ears toward other musical styles and techniques.

The "greater Cincinnati" area comprises approximately a 50 mile radius from Cincinnati, including northern Kentucky and eastern Indiana. Take a look at the maps page to get an idea of Cincinnati's geography and to get driving directions to our meetings.
